What cookies are

The categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function and for us to record your consent choice. These are set without asking, because the site cannot work without them and, in the case of the consent record, because we are obliged to keep one.

Functional

Used by Google AdSense and its partners to select advertising, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure whether ads work. Depending on your choices, these may be used to personalise the advertising you see.
Affiliate tracking
Set by Skimlinks when you click a link to a retailer, so that any resulting purchase is attributed to us and we receive a commission. This costs you nothing extra.
Embedded and social content
Set by third parties whose content appears on our pages, including Disqus and embedded YouTube videos. These behave as if you had visited those sites directly, and their own policies apply.
