Cool prints to geek up your home

March 3, 2014 By Jillian Boyd

Minimalist The Reichenbach Fall poster by The Geekery on Etsy

If you’re on the look-out for a reasonably cheap and suitably geeky way to decorate your house, then these prints (found on Firebox and Etsy) are most definitely for you. There’s something for every taste and every fandom, and they will make your house look exquisitely geek chic.

Punk Super Mario Brothers, anyone? Or a David Bowie-styled Grumpy Cat?

Sherlock The Great Game Minimalist poster by The GeekerieSherlock Minimalist Episodic Posters by The Geekerie

These stunning minimalistic episodic art prints wouldn’t be out of place in Mr. Holmes’ flat itself. And yes, I wouldn’t put it past him to have prints of his own show up in his flat – the cheeky little consulting detective that he is. Made by Etsy’s The Geekerie, with the Sherlock episodic prints covering both series one and two.

Punk Super Mario Print by Butcher BillyPunk Super Mario Brothers print on Firebox

Never Mind The Blocks, here’s Mario and Princess Peach looking a bit less like the protectors of the Mushroom Kingdom and a bit more Saturday night at CBGB. Designed by Butcher Billy on Firebox, I’m guessing Sid Vicious would have not been best pleased with this print…

Grumpy Cat as David Bowie print on EtsyPrint of Grumpy Cat as David Bowie by OlechkaDesign

You’d imagine Grumpy Cat and David Bowie go together as well as Superman and Kryptonite (or Superman and Zack Snyder, depending on your opinion…). But, nevertheless, this print of our favourite not very happy cat in full Ziggy Stardust make-up is pretty impressive, especially considering it’s entirely handmade (by Etsy’s OlechkaDesign).

Iron Stark print by Danny HaasIron Stark by Danny Haas on Firebox

Philantropist, playboy, billionaire, lover of shawarma. Tony Stark is many things but mainly, he’s also Iron Man – the kick-ass, cheeky as heck Avenger. This print by Danny Haas on Firebox deftly displays the two halves of one whole, seriously cool dude.

Minimalist My Neighbour Totoro Studio Ghibli poster on Etsy, The Geekery Totoro Minimalist Studio Ghibli print

Another minimalist print from Etsy’s The Geekerie, this time with a Studio Ghibli flavour. Myazaki’s classic animated film My Neighbour Totoro gets a minimalist twist, with this poster featuring the three Totoro spirits on a rainy afternoon. Seriously, how cute is that poster?

The Bowie/Grumpy Cat pic combines two of my great loves!! How wonderful. Also, there’s someone on Etsy who does giant wall stickers of Star Trek computer interfaces… I definitely want one of those.
